Andromeda Studios is a one-person mobile game studio owned and operated by Jeff Lessard, Colgate ‘96. It’s sole mission is to build and launch a mobile game called ShutterForge.

About ShutterForge

ShutterForge is an iOS card game that turns your real photos into collectible illustrated cards using AI. You take a photo of yourself, your friends, your dog, anything — spin a three-reel slot machine to land on a style — and the AI transforms your photo into a fully illustrated, unique piece of card art. Your selfie might become a dragon rider, a cyberpunk hacker, a samurai in a bamboo forest, or an astronaut floating above Earth. Every card is one-of-a-kind because it starts with YOUR photo.

Once you have forged your cards, you battle your friends in Slam — a fast, 30-second battle mode where you pick stats to clash on, bluff with the Forge Bet doubling mechanic, and try to knock out your opponent's card. Battles happen in AI-generated worlds that players forge themselves — arenas spanning real history (Ancient Rome, Edo Japan, the Apollo launch), speculative fiction (Dragon-Siege London, Mecha Defense Tokyo), and pure fantasy (volcanic thrones, enchanted fairy rings, quantum foam at the edge of physics).

The game is built for kids and teens who want to see themselves as the hero of their own card. The moment a player sees their face reimagined as a painted fantasy warrior is the hook, and the moment they show that card to a friend is the viral loop. ShutterForge's core flywheel is: forge something cool, show it to a friend, that friend downloads the app to make their own.

ShutterForge is developed by Andromeda Studios, founded by Jeff Lessard, Colgate ‘96. The app is currently in beta with a planned public launch on the iOS App Store. The tech stack includes Swift/SwiftUI, Firebase, Google Cloud Run, and OpenAI's image generation API.
