Marketing Intern
The Role
I am looking for a creative, self-directed marketing intern who can help ShutterForge grow from beta to a thriving player community. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the marketing identity of a new mobile game. You will work directly with me and have real ownership over marketing strategy and execution.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how games, apps, and content go viral on social media, particularly on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. You should be excited by the idea of turning AI-generated card art into scroll-stopping content.
Responsibilities
Marketing Plan Development (Ongoing)
• Develop and maintain a rolling 90-day marketing plan aligned with product milestones (beta launch, public launch, seasonal events, feature releases)
• Research competitor marketing strategies (Marvel SNAP, Pokémon TCG, Clash Royale) and identify tactics to adapt for ShutterForge
• Define target audience segments (primary: teens 12–17, secondary: young adults 18–24, tertiary: parents of younger kids)
• Set measurable marketing goals: app downloads, TestFlight signups, social media followers, engagement rates, share rates
Marketing Plan Execution
• Execute campaigns across organic social, influencer outreach, and community channels
• Coordinate on product launches, TestFlight invites, and App Store optimization (ASO)
• Track performance metrics weekly and adjust tactics based on what is working
• Identify and pursue press/media opportunities (gaming blogs, tech publications, news)
• Manage App Store listing optimization: screenshots, preview video, description, etc.
Social Media Management
• Create and maintain ShutterForge accounts on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, etc.
• Post 3–5 pieces of content per week, prioritizing short-form video
• Build relationships with influencers in the mobile gaming and card game communities
• Content themes: card forge reveals (the transformation moment), Slam battle highlights,
world art showcases, player-submitted cards, behind-the-scenes development updates
• Engage with comments, DMs, and community conversations daily (15–20 minutes)
• Identify trending sounds, formats, and hashtags to ride for reach
Website Development & Maintenance
• Build and maintain a simple, visually striking landing page for ShutterForge
• The site should communicate: what ShutterForge is, show example card/world art, link to the App Store, and capture emails for launch notifications
• Maintain a blog or news section for game updates, patch notes, and community features
• Ensure the site is mobile-first
• Basic SEO: meta tags, Open Graph images, App Store smart banner
Community Building
• Set up and moderate a Discord server for ShutterForge players (beta testers first, then public)
• Create channels for card sharing, battle challenges, feedback, and bug reports
• Organize weekly community events: card art contests, Slam tournaments, themed forge challenges
• Surface player-generated content (cool cards, funny results, creative uses) for social media reposting
• Collect and relay player feedback to the founder for product development
Analytics & Reporting
• Set up basic analytics tracking across social accounts and the website
• Deliver a brief weekly report covering: follower growth, top-performing content, engagement rates, website traffic, and TestFlight/download numbers
• Flag what is working, what is not, and what to try next week
Suggested Weekly Time Allocation

• Basic comfort with web tools
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when required
• Have your own iPhone and computer that can be used for work tasks
Preferred (Not Required)
• Basic analytics literacy (Google Analytics, social platform insights, App Store Connect)
